This is an overview of the new account bundle in SWTOR, the Firebolt Edition Bundle! This bundle offers many useful and unique items that we’ll take a look at in here to determine if it’s worth the cost.
The Firebolt Edition Bundle was first released on July 30, 2024 and is available until September 23, 2024. It is available for purchase on the SWTOR website and Steam for $99.99 USD (plus applicable tax). This bundle was first revealed during the SWTOR 7.5.1 Livestream.
Contents of the Bundle and FAQ
The Firebolt Edition Bundle contains the following:
- 180 days of Subscription time – This will allow players access to all SWTOR expansions including Legacy of the Sith, all endgame content, and convenience features.
- 5,500 Cartel Coins – Digital currency used for the in-game Store
- The Vectron 240R Firebolt Mount – Level 1 characters will be able to use this mount without any prerequisites.
- Primary and Secondary Metallic Red Dye Modules – Dye used to augment the appearance of a character’s outfit. Each character on an account gets 5 of each dye and they are bound to your Legacy.
Who can purchase this offer?
Any player will be able to purchase this bundle regardless if they are starting out in SWTOR or if they’re a longtime veteran. You will only be able to purchase this for an account once and this bundle is able to be gifted to another player through Steam!
How are the items received after purchase?
The 180 days of subscription time and 5,500 Cartel Coins will be added to your SWTOR account automatically. The Vectron 240R FIrebolt mount and Dye Modules will be sent to all your characters through the in-game mailbox.
Try relogging out and back into the game. If it doesn’t work, try restarting the game. If the in-game mail is still missing, contact Customer Support. Vulkk’s mail arrived nearly three hours after he purchased his bundle. Mine and Endonae’s arrived immediately.
What are the restrictions of the items included with this bundle?
You will not be able to trade or transfer contents from this bundle.
How does this affect those with active SWTOR subscriptions?
The time from this bundle will be added to your account at the end of your current billing cycle. Instead of paying your subscription fee next month, you’ll be charged 180 days after your current billy cycle. 180 days is just shy of 6 months, you won’t have to worry about subscriptions for a while.
Overview of the Bundle’s Contents
When looking at the overall value of this bundle, you’re getting a pretty good deal. 180 days of subscription time would cost $77.94 USD and the 5,500 Cartel Coins at $39.99 USD.
These two items alone would cost $117.93 USD (plus applicable tax), and this doesn’t include the value of the dyes and mount. You’re saving about $18 USD at minimum.
Vectron 240R Firebolt Mount
The Vectron 240R Firebolt Mount will allow players to ride it at level 1 and without Speeder Training. This is useful for new players looking to get around quickly on the starter worlds, or for veteran players when they make new characters.
When idle, small jets of flames will come out of the exhaust pipes. These flames grow stronger while you’re actively moving around. The color of the boost mirrors the color of the crystal you have in your weapons.
This is called a “Mount Flourish”. To activate it, use the shortcut for it. Default is CTRL+Z:
What’s neat about this mount is that it has a “quick hotrod burst mode” which just means it gains a short boost of speed for a couple of seconds when you mount it.
This appears to be the exact same effect you would gain by equipping the Razor’s Kickstart tactical earned from the All Worlds Ultimate Swoop Rally event.
This functionality adds 400% movement speed for 2 seconds after mounting and has a 10 seconds cooldown. The Firebolt mount has this tactical’s feature built-in.
After some testing, it does not appear that the Vectron 240R Firebolt mount stacks with the Razor’s Kickstart tactical and if it does, it’s an imperceptible difference.
Primary Metallic Red Dye and Secondary Metallic Red Dye
The Primary Metallic Red Dye and Secondary Metallic Red Dye modules arrive in the mail inside a bundle that when unlocked, grants 5 of each dye module.
These dye modules are bound to Legacy so you’re able to swap them between characters on your Legacy.
Is the Firebolt Edition Bundle worth purchasing
I would say this is a good deal for active loyal players only. If you’re constantly on SWTOR and pay for subscriptions anyway, this is nice to have as you’ll get 6 months of subscription time with the added Cartel Coins and other goodies.
If you only care about the subscription time and not the goodies, stick to the subscription plan. I would not recommend this bundle for new or casual players in SWTOR.
If you’re still gauging whether you like this game or going in blind, you might be better off with the Join the Fight Bundle.
This bundle is cheaper and offers similar features to the Firebolt Edition bundle such as 60 days of subscription time, 2,400 Cartel Coins, and a mount you can use at level 1.
